The United States has finalized an agreement permitting Qatar to establish an air force training facility in Idaho, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced.
According to Hegseth, the new facility—designed to train Qatari pilots to operate F-15 fighter jets—will be located at Mountain Home Air Base in the northwestern state.
“This is yet another example of our strong partnership,” Hegseth said during a meeting with Qatari Defense Minister Saoud bin Abdulrahman al-Thani at the Pentagon on Friday.
He also commended Qatar for its “significant role” in supporting President Donald Trump’s efforts to broker a Gaza ceasefire and facilitate the release of hostages.
